Recently crowned Miss Tourism International Rizzini Alexis Gomez will be the lead dancer in the Grand Finale in this year’s Sinulog grand parade.  The 22-year old Cebuana nurse and beauty queen will be this year’s Queen Juana following  Cebu City North District Rep. Rachel del Mar who lead the finale in last year’s parade.  The finale usually happens around 6 to 7 in the evening after all the contingents finished their performances at the Cebu City Sports Complex.

According to Sinulog Foundation Inc. Executive Director Ricky Ballesteros, this year’s finale will focus on the 75th Charter Anniversary of the City of Cebu with the theme of “Cebu City: Turning diamond. Gems of the past, brilliance of the present.”  The finale performance will highlight the different events through decades of Cebu city starting from the 1930’s. The performance will feature events like the start of Sinulog, the EDSA revolution, and even the recent canonization of Saint Pedro Calungsod.  The performance will be handled by a team led by Victor Cuenco and Junjet Primor. A fireworks show will color the sky to cap another successful staging of the Sinulog.

According to Ballesteros, Rizzini was chosen by the foundation’s board because she can truly promote Cebu with her being a global tourism ambassador. Rizzini even mentioned the Sinulog in her answer in the question and answer portion of the Miss Tourism International 2012 which was held on New Year‘s Eve in Malaysia.  The true-blue Cebuana was able to convince her dad, ex-PBA three-point specialist Roel Gomez, to allow her to dance in the festival. Rizzini will also be joining the parade along with other beauty queens at the Mutya ng Pilipinas float.
